I really felt like it was the most important instrument on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The guitar was restored in 1972, and has had many adjustments, modifications and replacements through the years. I believe the nut has been replaced as well, it looks to be newer than 1958 to me. This guitar was originally natural in color, then painted black-then stripped back down to natural.with two knobs (and they were different knobs), a gold pick guard, a different tremolo system, and more than likely, grommets under the pickups. Hall of Rickenbacker just a little bit before that show, and he switched to that guitar because this one was in rough shape. John was given a brand new model 325 by F.C. This is the guitar that John Lennon played on stage for years, from shows in Hamburg, Germany in 1960 until The Beatles' second appearance on Ed Sullivan on February 16, 1964. I hope you enjoy these photos I took of John Lennon's Rickenbacker 325 Capri! I took these on February 15, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH.
